Local knowledge
Chantilly spans the Route 28 and Route 50 corridor near Dulles, from Greenbriar and Brookfield out to South Riding, with the Smithsonian’s Udvar-Hazy Center just up the road. It is genuinely two places at once: established family neighborhoods on one side, and a dense band of office and flex-industrial parks on the other. The work splits roughly the same way.
On the residential side, the mix of build eras means there is no single answer. Greenbriar homes from the 1960s and 1970s have the older-construction problems of thick walls and no in-wall data wiring. The newer South Riding builds have the opposite issue, which is a large footprint with more square footage than one router was ever going to cover.
On the business side, small offices and contractors along the Route 28 corridor tend to need the unglamorous things done properly. A network that separates the office equipment from the guest Wi-Fi. A printer that everyone can reach without someone’s laptop being on. Business email on the company’s own domain, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up so that quotes and invoices actually arrive instead of landing in a spam folder. Accounts registered in the business owner’s name, so changing providers later is a decision rather than a hostage negotiation.
Chantilly is roughly ten minutes from our base, which makes it one of the easier areas to schedule, including for the follow-up visit that a phased job sometimes needs.
