A loud fan usually means the computer is working hard or overheating. Clicking from inside a desktop or laptop, especially one with a traditional hard drive, can be an early warning sign of drive failure.

If it is still slow after a restart and a bit of cleanup, or it got slow suddenly rather than gradually, that is worth a closer look.
Windows hit an error it could not recover from and shut everything down to protect your data, showing a blue screen with a stop code. It can be caused by a hardware problem, a bad driver, or a serious software conflict.
If the blue screen repeats, or you cannot get past it to restart normally, it is worth having it looked at before you lose data.
