Most work is quoted at a fixed price. You are given the figure before the work begins, and it does not change. If the work runs longer than estimated, the additional cost is mine.
Some work cannot be defined in advance. Diagnosing a problem with no evident cause is the common example. Work of that kind is billed at $75 per hour, and I confirm with you before hourly billing begins.
$75These are labor charges. Where a job requires parts, you pay the cost of the parts.

On-site across Northern Virginia, with no travel charge to any town listed here. If your town is not listed and you are nearby, ask. Remote support is available anywhere, and a good deal of this work does not require me to be in the room.
Work quoted above $300 takes a 50 percent deposit, with the balance due on completion. Work at or below $300 is paid on completion. The deposit is in the quote, so you see it before you agree to anything.
Troubleshooting is different, because neither of us knows the cause at the start. That work is hourly, takes no deposit, and I tell you before the meter starts. If I cannot fix it, you pay for the time I spent diagnosing and nothing further, and I tell you who can.
If I quote a fixed price and then cannot complete the work, the deposit is returned in full. I only quote fixed on work I already know I can do, so this should not come up. It is worth saying anyway.
I accept cash, check, Zelle, PayPal, Apple Pay, and credit or debit cards.
I provide both. On-site service covers Northern Virginia, and remote support handles any work that does not require physical access to the equipment. Once you describe the problem, I will tell you which approach it needs.
Evenings and weekends, by appointment. I am a one-person company and do not advertise availability I cannot maintain. You have a single point of contact, a response time stated in writing, and no support queue to sit in.

The additional time is my cost. The price is set before the work begins and does not change because the job proved more difficult than estimated. If the work takes less time than estimated, the price is reduced.
I do not perform component-level repair, which includes soldering, screen replacement, and board-level work. I handle the software side: data recovery, disk imaging, operating system reinstallation, and migration onto working hardware. If a machine needs physical repair, I will tell you and refer you to a shop that performs it.
I support Windows, macOS, and Linux, along with tablets, phones, printers, routers, and most equipment a home or small office relies on.
You own them from the first day. Domains, hosting, email, and third-party accounts are registered in your name. I hold administrative access only, and I return it on request. Nothing is configured in a way that makes leaving difficult.
Insured through Hiscox for general and professional liability. A certificate of insurance is available on request.
Describe the problem and I will tell you what resolving it requires. If a less expensive option would serve you better, I will say so. If what you need falls outside what I offer, I will tell you that as well.
